Book Donations & Trade-Ins

We believe every story deserves a second home. At Bookmarks, we welcome your pre-loved books through our donation and store credit programs.

If you simply wish to clear your shelves and support our local shop, we accept book donations during our regular business hours. Simply stop in and our staff will take them off your hands. We appreciate your contribution to our collection.

We offer store credit for books and authors that are popular and in good condition. To qualify for store credit, books must meet the following criteria:

• Format: We accept trade paperbacks and hardcovers.
• Recency: Books should be recently published.
• Condition: Books must be in good, readable condition.

Please note that mass market paperbacks, textbooks, reference books, and magazines are only accepted as donations and do not qualify for credit.

Our standard credit rates for qualifying books are:

• Trade Paperbacks: $1.00 per book
• Hardcovers: $2.00 per book

You may apply your earned store credit toward up to 50% of any in-store book purchase.

Books are reviewed for store credit only when the owner is present.

• Verification: If you would like to know your credit amount before leaving your books, please call ahead to confirm when the owner will be in the shop.
• Returns: If you would like any books returned that do not qualify for credit, please ask our staff to leave a note with your request.
• Inquiries: We do not provide callbacks regarding store credit. To check your balance or complete a trade, please visit the shop when the owner is in or call us at a later date.
